My design idea for this piece was to stay fairly accurate to 17th century Spain, simplifying where necessary to make the costumes more wearable and the costume build a more practical task. It was a large build, nonetheless, building every piece for the production. It was a challenging, yet very satisfying design project for me and a terrific learning experience for the costume construction crew. Overall, I’m quite pleased with this show.
